This document covers accessing ServiceCEO remotely using a phone utilizing an Openwave® browser.

Caution:
Openwave uses WAP and thus will not support some functionality that appears in HTML mobile devices (e.g. see The ServiceCEO Job List). WAP - short for Wireless Access Protocol - is an open international standard for applications that use wireless communication (e.g. Internet access from a mobile phone). The official body developing WAP is the WAP Forum.

Note:
The basic functionality described in this document is valid for any user connecting to ServiceCEO with a mobile device using a WAP browser. Some minor differences may arise due to browser differences and device capabilities.

Logging in to ServiceCEO

To log into ServiceCEO:

  1. Point your phone to the URL you set up when you configured your Mobile Technician Setup. The Login page appears.
  2. Type your user name into the Username field.
  3. Type your password into the Passwords field.
  4. Verify that the Mobile check box is selected.
  5. Scroll down to and select the Login button. The ServiceCEO Job List page appears.

Basic Navigation

Use your phone's up and down arrows to navigate up and down the various pages.

To select a link, check box or option button, use the up and down arrows to place the cursor over the link, check box or option button. The appropriate graphic appears in the lower left portion of the screen (indicated by the green border). To click the link or select the check box or option button, click the button indicated in the red box.

The ServiceCEO Job List

The ServiceCEO Job List page displays a list of all of your jobs for the day. Click the Job's Invoice number to display the job's details.

To access a particular job:

  1. Scroll down to the invoice number corresponding to the job you want to access.
  2. Press the right button displaying the invoice number. The Jobs page appears.

Note:
Because Openwave devices run using WAP, the link to the Work Order page will not appear. The Work Order link will only appear on HTML handheld devices.

 

The Jobs screen

From here, you can access two screens:

  • The Summary screen. This screen will display the details about the current job.
  • The Job Status screen. Selecting OK will display the Job Status screen.

The Invoice/Summary screen

This screen displays all of the details about the job. Scroll down to see the rest of the details of the job.

From this screen, you can also access four different screens, each designed to display specific data about the job:

  1. Charges. Scroll down to a specific charge and press the Go button. The Charge page appears, displaying details about the charge.
  2. Services. Scroll down to the specific service and press the Go button. The Service page appears, displaying details about the service.
  3. Payments. Scroll down to the specific payment and press the Go button. The Payment page appears, displaying details about the payment.
  4. Invoice Notes. Scroll down to the Invoice Notes link and press the Link button. See the Notes section below for details.

 

The Job Status screen

This screen enables you to define the status of the job. The statuses that are available are defined by the ServiceCEO administrator; see the Defining Job Statuses section of the Implementation Manual for details (http://www.insightdirect.com/documentation/im/app_config/lists/jobstatus.htm).

To define the job status:

  1. Scroll down to the option button corresponding to the job status you want to enter.
  2. Press the button with the option button graphic.
  3. Scroll down to the Save link.
  4. Press the Save button.

You can also access additional pages from the bottom of this screen. They are:

  • Time Tracking.
  • Payroll.
  • Charges.
  • Payments.
  • Invoice Notes.
  • Equipment.
  • Service Contracts.

To display any of these screens, scroll to the appropriate link and press the Go button.

The On-Site Equipment screen

This screen displays the customer's on-site equipment. To display an item of equipment, scroll down to and select it.

Troubleshooting

Due to a WAP limitation, decimal points do not appear correctly in Openwave browsers accessing ServiceCEO. The workaround for this is described in the Editing web.config section of the Mobile Tech Setup Guide.
