Previous Topic: Adding Fields to a Crystal Report
To adjust the formatting (font, display, style, alignment, etc.) of a Crystal Reports report field:
On the right-side of the Design View page, right-click on the field whose formatting you want to edit and select Format Field from the pop-up menu. The Format Editor dialog box appears.
Select the formatting options you want to use from this dialog box. Your options include:
Common. Basic commands. Common commands include:
Suppress. This will hide the field, but will not remove it from your report.
Horizontal Alignment. Controls the alignment of the text within the field parameters.
Can Grow. Typically used with Formulas, this command lets the field's text expand past the field's borders.
Tool Tip Text. The text that will appear when you mouse over the field.
Border. Add a border around your field.
Font. Control the appearance of the field's text.
Paragraph. Define how the paragraph appears.
Hyperlink. Define any hyperlinks you want to be included with this field.
Note that you can define a formula for each section by clicking . See the Formulas section for more.
When complete, click OK. The Design View page reappears.
More advanced features are accessible by right-clicking on the Database Fields line from the Main Report tab of the Design View page. These features include changing grouping, ordering and filtering, or adding new database tables to the report. See the Data Sources section for more.
