Previous Topic: Upgrading ServiceCEO

The Database Validator is a tool that runs a number of tests on your database to ensure that there are no problems or data corruption. Running the Database Validator will ensure that any potential problems are caught and fixed as soon as possible.

You can run the Database Validator can be run in two different ways:

  1. Before running any upgrade file. Upgrading ServiceCEO will automatically run the Database Validator before upgrading the database.

  2. As a standalone program. At any time, you can run the Database Validator by selecting Start > All Programs > ServiceCEO > Database Validator. Click Start from the Database Validator window. Make sure that nobody is logged into ServiceCEO before you start it.

However you run it, the Database Validator dialog box will appear. It will take a minute for the tests to run. After the tests have run once, the Database Validator will attempt to fix all tests that failed and then will run all of the tests again. When complete, a results screen will appear. Click Details to see detailed results, including a listing of tests that did not pass as well as any tests that found an issue that was automatically fixed.

If you are upgrading your database, and no errors are found, the Database Validator automatically closes and the database upgrade begins.
