Stock can be added to the system by manually inserting items into a specific stock location.
Note that manually adding inventory adds the items directly into the stock location without a Purchase Order A Purchase Order (PO) is a document by which you indicates to a vendor the type, quantities and agreed prices for inventory items that the vendor will provide to you.. POs provide a structured method of tracking the order and its financial implications. See the Purchase Order Workflow section for the benefits of using purchase orders.

To manually add inventory items, click the Add Inventory button from one of several locations:
Any tab of a Stock Location
The Completion Wizard Charge Details screen
The New Inventory Items dialog box appears.
Type the first few letters of the item you want to add in the Quick Search field. A list of inventory items matching your criteria will automatically appear.
Select the Search superseding catalogs check box to search previous versions of parts. In other words, selecting this check box will enable you to find a part using values that have since been updated.
Select the item you want to add from the list of available parts. The fields on the bottom of the page will be populated with the selected item's default values.

If necessary, you can link the selected item to a new Master Product by selecting <New> from the Internal Product drop-down list. You can also add a new catalog item for the selected item by selecting <New> from the Catalog Item drop-down list.
If necessary, edit the Vendor Part No. or Vendor Description fields.
Select the stock location An location, like a warehouse or a truck, where inventory is stored. In ServiceCEO, office locations and teams (and, in ServiceCEO Enterprise, branch and regional offices) can be identified as Stock Locations. to which you want to add the inventory item from the Add To drop-down list.
Click Next. The Details tab of the New Inventory Items dialog box appears.
Enter the number of the selected inventory items you want to add to the stock location An location, like a warehouse or a truck, where inventory is stored. The cost and sales tax will be populated by default based on the values in the vendor catalog. If necessary, you can edit these values in the Base Cost and/or Sales Tax fields.
If you are integrated with a GL The general ledger is the main accounting record of a business which uses double-entry bookkeeping. It consists of accounts for fixed assets, current assets and liabilities, profit and loss or income and expenditure items, and funds or reserves. The general ledger is a summary of all of the transactions that occur in the company. account, select the appropriate GL income accounts from the Inventory Asset Account and Offsetting Account drop-down lists.
Enter a note to attach to the added inventory items in the Notes field, if necessary.
If you are adding a serialized Serialized Inventory items generally have a unique serial number attached to each instance of an item in stock. Serialized items each have a unique unit cost and sell-price, hence the exact cost for a job or invoice depends on the exact items selected to fill the charge. Until these items are assigned to fill the charge on a job default price and cost information is obtained from the values in the Master Product List. When viewing a job prior to completion the user can view the items assigned to a charge by double-clicking on the charge line-item and selecting SHOW ITEMS. Serialized items support assignment of warranty information and manufacturer information prior to sale of the item. item, enter the number with which you want to start the items' serial numbers to start with into the Starting Serial No. field.
Click Save. The inventory is added to the stock location.
