An employee’s work hours can be overridden for any specific date. For example, if an employee has a vacation or a doctor appointment scheduled, you will need to override their work hours for those days.
To define the dates and hours when an employee can’t work:
Open the Work Hours dialog box. From the employee record, you can do this by selecting Tools > Work Hours, pressing CTRL + H, or clicking Work Hours. You can also right-click an employee from the Dispatch Board and select Work Hours from the pop-up menu. Regardless of the action you perform, the Work Hours page appears.
Click Override. The Override dialog box appears.
Select the date that you would like to enter the work hours override from the calendar.

Click New. A time block bar appears on the right side of the dialog box.
Define the work hour override by clicking and dragging in the yellow hour bar or by defining the time in the Start Time and End Time spin boxes.
Select the time code you want to assign to the override time block from the Time Code Time codes provide three settings to the time blocks to which they are assigned: Employee Availability, Payroll Eligibility, and General Ledger Account integration. If you want this time block to occur for the entire day, click the All Day check box. The time block will automatically expand to fill all of the company work hours (as defined in the Scheduling Options dialog box).
Optionally, click into the work hours box to edit or add to its description.
Click Save and Close.

After you define the override, the override date(s) appear highlighted in red on the Work Hours calendar.
