Install ServiceCEO on the Web Server

You will need to install ServiceCEO on your web server because the Web Access application uses many of the modules bundled into the main ServiceCEO client. If ServiceCEO is already installed, skip to the Install Customer Web Access Files topic.

For detailed instructions for installing ServiceCEO, please see the Installing ServiceCEO Overview section. Once the installation is complete, configure your network so that the web server is pointing to the ServiceCEO database in the same manner as any other client machine. For details, see the Network Configuration Overview section.

Note:
Users should not normally run the ServiceCEO client on the web server machine while it is actively serving content. This can lead to unpredictable behavior. In other words, the web server should not be used as a standard ServiceCEO client.

Once ServiceCEO is configured, you must turn on Customer Web Access. To do so:

  1. Log in to ServiceCEO as an Administrator.

  2. Select Tools > Options. The Options dialog box appears.

  3. Scroll down and click Web Access. The Web Access Options dialog box appears.

  1. Select the Enable Customer Web Access check box. The Information dialog box appears.

  2. Click OK. The documentation which the information dialog box is referencing is the document you are currently reading.

  3. To enable customers to cancel their jobs over the internet, select the Allow Cancellation up to X days before Job check box.

  4. Enter the number of days before the job is scheduled that you would like to prevent job cancellation. For example, if you entered "5" into this field, customers could cancel their jobs at any time UNTIL five days before the job is scheduled to start.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Open the customer record of the customer you want to give web access to ServiceCEO.

  7. Select the Address for the customer you want to provide access from the Address drop-down list.

  8. Click Edit Address.

  9. Click the tab with the customer's name on it.

  10. Select the Web Access check box.

  11. Click OK.

  12. Repeat steps 10-14 to enable web access for different contacts from this customer record.

  13. Click Save and Close.

  14. Repeat steps 9-16 to give more customers web access to ServiceCEO.
