Register CDONTS.dll

Previous  Topic: Register SWWebCust.dll

  1. Navigate to the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WebAccess folder.

  2. Right-click CDONTS.dll and select Cut from the drop-down menu.

  3. Navigate to your system32 folder. Depending on your operating system, the path to this folder might be different. For Windows XP, this path is C:\WINDOWS\system32.

  4. In a blank space in the system32 folder, right-click and select Paste from the pop-up menu. CDONTS.dll appears in the folder.

You may see a Confirm File Replace dialog box appear. If so, click Yes to overwrite the existing file.

  1. Right-click on the CDONTS.dll file and select Properties. The cdonts.dll Properties dialog box appears.

  2. Click the Security tab.

If you don't see the Security tab, select Start > Settings > Control Panel. Double-click Folder Options. Click the View tab. Deselect the Use Simple File Sharing check box. Click Apply. Click OK. Now repeat steps one and two; you should now see the Security tab.

  1. If the Internet Guest Account appears, select it and verify that the Read & Execute and Read check boxes are selected in the Allow column of the Permissions list box. If they are, skip to step 14.
    If the Internet Guest Account does not appear, click Add. The Select Users or Groups dialog box appears.

  1. If your computer name does not appear in the From this location field, click Locations. The Locations dialog box appears. Navigate to and select your computer and click OK.

  2. Type (COMPUTER NAME)\IUSR_(COMPUTER NAME) into the Enter the object names to select field where (COMPUTER NAME) is the name of the web-server.

To determine the name of the computer, right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop, select Properties from the pop-up menu, and click the Computer Name tab.

  1. Click OK. The Select Users or Groups dialog box disappears.

  2. Verify that the Read & Execute and Read check boxes are selected in the Allow column of the Permissions list box. If not, select them now.

  3. Click OK. The cdonts.dll Properties dialog box appears.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Open the command prompt.

  6. Type regsvr32 "C:\WINDOWS\system32\CDONTS.dll" at the prompt.

Note!

Note:
As above, the directory to your system32 directory may vary depending on your operating system. Please use the correct path. In addition, note that you must include the directory in double-quotes.

  1. Press Enter. A RegSvr32 dialog box appears with a confirmation message.

  2. Click OK.

  3. Close the command prompt.
